The role of the digital strategist is to design campaigns to meet the needs of our clients and to exceed their expectations. Building on your existing knowledge and skills, the Digital Strategist will be tasked with analysing user experience data, initiating digital campaigns, reporting on planned and current strategies, and leading effective digital marketing strategies. You will work alongside the Head of Digital to create a high-performing centre of digital excellence.

As a Digital Strategist you will have unique expertise relating to your experience. You will endeavour to maintain and grow your knowledge within your chosen area(s). You will keep up-to-date with the latest thinking and best practice and bring this knowledge to the Digital Team and clients as required.

As and when appropriate, you will work alongside the Head of Digital to manage and mentor any Digital Media Executives working on your campaigns. You will be responsible for their day-to-day workload on the campaign(s) along with maintaining the high standards required. You will work with the Head of Digital in setting goals and a development plan for the DME, working with the DME to ensure that these are then met/achieved.
Working with the Head of Digital you will facilitate discovery sessions (with the client and/or internal teams) to understand and document the client’s objectives, KPIs and measures of success. You will then use this information to create a campaign plan (or plans) across various digital mediums to hit these targets. Where and when other skills outside of your expertise are required you will bring in other team members to fill any gaps. You will own and be ultimately responsible for the campaign plan.
Campaign Execution and Delivery
The digital strategist is responsible for overseeing the successful execution and delivery of the campaign(s), to make sure everything is delivered correctly. You will work with, and advise (when available), the Digital Media Executive(s) working on the campaign to ensure day-to-day delivery follows best practice, including daily monitoring and optimisation. You will be responsible for the correct setup of channels/platforms and the campaigns within, including structure and naming conventions. You will write (or work alongside a copywriter) to produce best practice copy for the supporting assets, and work with studio to create any supporting imagery. You will identify and manage the campaign budgets so that they are optimised for performance and do not overspend.
Reporting and Insights
All campaigns will have weekly, monthly and quarterly reports (unless otherwise defined by the client). You will be responsible for working with Digital Media Executive(s) to ensure these are accurate and delivered in a timely way. Based on your knowledge and experience, you will provide the monthly commentary and quarterly insights to both help the performance of the campaign and the understanding of the client.
