Five minutes with Jillian Hart
Meet our North American Strategy Director – Jillian Hart.
Meet Jillian Hart, our new North American Strategy Director. From Social Media Manager to Strategy Director, Jillian has accomplished many things in her career before joining Fox Agency, but is excited for what’s to come for our US team.
Congratulations on your new role at Fox Agency! Please tell us about your career journey so far?
Thanks! If you told me over a decade ago that I would be a strategist for some of the biggest B2B companies in the world, I don’t think I would have believed you! Instead of telling you my unorthodox journey going from Social Media Manager to Strategy Director, I’ll give you a few fun facts…
- While I was just a little intern at Elitch Gardens (Six Flags), I wrote and filmed a video to get people to find fun things to do at a theme park while it was raining
- At Crispin Porter & Bogusky, I was the first to introduce user generated content to our CPG clients, starting with JELL-O
- I Introduced a client workshop program for Darden Restaurants to get clients thinking and brainstorming out-of-the-box seasonal ideas including menu items, offers, events, etc
- I helped rebrand key Oracle business units during their company’s M&As
- I introduced, designed, and managed in-house brand tracking studies for many of our B2B clients
What excited you about the role with Fox Agency?
I have been very impressed by the caliber of work Fox Agency has put out into the world and it really excited me to bring that level of creativity to the US market.
What does your new role as Strategy Director involve?
If I had to describe my role through an analogy, I’d say I’m like an orchestra conductor. I may not be playing the instruments myself, but I guide the rhythm, bring the right elements together, and make sure everyone is in sync to deliver something powerful. In reality, that means I’m diving deep into research and insights (on the market, consumers, brand, and competition) and turning that into cohesive creative strategy, messaging, and branding. I also connect the dots across media, communications, and measurement to ensure everything plays in harmony.
What do you hope to bring to the Fox Agency team?
Well, besides being the first strategist to help build the Fox US team, I hope to bring a unique perspective to B2B campaigns and push the boundaries of what B2B advertising can be, by combining empathy, behavior science, and a lot of creativity.
What has been your biggest professional achievement to date?
My biggest achievement I’d say is solely starting a strategy, research, and insights capability and offering at my previous agency, 90octane.
Finally, tell us something interesting or unique about yourself?
I hope I don’t jinx it, but I’m currently training for my first 50k. By the time this goes live I may have already finished it (or failed it). So, maybe either wish me luck, send me a congrats, or tell me I’ll get ‘em next time.
