The August musings in Fox Agency culture

A look back on agency life in August, with a compilation of the weird and wonderful Friday emails which keep us smiling into the weekend.

August… you’ve gone, and you’ve taken the sun with you. Oh wait, there was no sun. Heading into September, it’s back to school time, the Great British Bake Off is set to hit our screens and if you’re very organised/ a little bit crazy, you might even be thinking about Christmas shopping.

But before we get into all that let’s look back at a fun -filled August, because who doesn’t love a bit of good old-fashioned fun, especially on a Friday? Enter the Fox Agency Friday email, comprised of random articles, animal videos and often strange new food combinations. May we present an August of Fox Agency madness.

A blast from the past…

Let’s start with some brilliance from the Olympics. Firstly Simone Biles making such a brave decision to put herself first. It is a lesson we can all learn from. Remember “no” is a full sentence all on its own. We’re so glad she did decide to tell us why she stepped back, but she totally didn’t owe it to us. Still an absolute hero and gymnastic legend. Secondly, to another Olympic hero, Tom Daley. Did you see his knitting?! And here is the finished article.

Aldi have made us laugh again recently with their social interactions around a store that is being sued by Home Bargains! Have a read of the comments as well, as Aldi get involved there too, and they do it really well.

Apparently, there is often miscommunication between Gen Z, Millennials and Gen X… who knew? But a story has emerged that emojis are seen differently between different age groups. If Gen X send a smiley face to someone in Gen X apparently it means a sarcastic/none sincere smile. And if Gen Z send anyone not in Gen Z a skull it means they are laughing so hard they died. You may now need to be more careful with your emojis (enter existential crisis of trying to work out what you mean by that smile. You’re welcome)!

Now that we can actually hug again, have a look at this cute strip of comics that capture how great hugs are. Speaking of cute (or probably more on the weird side), bell peppers are amazing when you put googly eyes on them! Don’t believe me? See for yourself. It’s the little things that keep us going.

We have also now added Chloe’s Café Corner to the Friday email, complete with weird and wonderful food items. This month’s menu featured delights such as this absolute zinger and the Ikea Meatball Candle. Want to be permanently hungry in your home? Light it up!

We had an amazing 33 shoutouts across the business this month, from getting new client websites ready to launch to some awesome PR opportunities. Oh and, this was a nice one, being credited with the re-brand that enabled a business to not only thrive but to be bought by another huge company. Hell yes, we were a part of that!

That’s all folks

We could go on and on, but we’ve got greatness to deliver. Keep a look out for the best bits of September’s Friday emails, coming to a blog near you soon. If you like what you see and want to find out more about the fun stuff Fox Agency gets up to, including our work in B2B tech and career opportunities, why not drop us a message?
