MOVING MINDS
Drive the changes you’re looking for within B2B automotive marketing. Proven strategies and inspirational thinking for shifting perspectives, shaping attitudes and moving minds.
Automated Manufacturing
Automation within automotive is happening, at pace. Robot installations in the US automotive sector rose by more than 10% in 20241 and similar adoption rates are playing out across Europe. BMW is now automating 95% of its body-in-white production2 – a change that’s boosting efficiency for them by letting different vehicle architectures run down the same line.
But robots are only part of the story. So, where’s the real opportunity now?
Connected Vehicles
ADAS. Safety systems. Sensor fusion. Harnesses. Autonomous vehicle systems. Connectivity modules. Embedded systems. The language of connectivity is dense, and the legislation surrounding it even more challenging.
As component suppliers become system integrators, the goal shifts. It’s no longer just about explaining what a product does. It’s about holding brand credibility while making the complex simple.
Electrification
Europe recorded around 4.2 million EV sales in 20253, with UK plug-in hybrids the fastest-growing electrified segment in early 2026, up 47.3% year-on-year4. But it’s charging infrastructure and thermal management where the real story lies. As of April 2026, the UK’s public charging network stands at 119,080 chargers5. While significant, the network needs to add at least 300,000 public charge points by 2030 to meet government targets and support projected BEV volumes6.
The challenge of infrastructure growth is a challenge for marketing. But do you have the right strategies in place?
Design and Zonal Architecture
Vehicle design is becoming more integrated with smarter, connected systems built on simplified, zonal electronic architecture. This evolution is the reason that 45% of OEMs and suppliers globally now rank the software-defined vehicle transition as their single top strategic priority7. It’s a fundamental shift for a usually conservative industry, where monetization now continues after the sale: subscription features, over-the-air updates, features-on-demand.
But for all this, OEMs are still mid-transition. Volkswagen for instance only deployed its first China-developed zonal architecture into production vehicles earlier this year. And it’s not just manufacturers who are in a state of flux; marketers are also looking for a way forward.
