Creating opportunity in the US
Meet our Client Services Director of North America – Jim Sampson.
We spoke to Jim Sampson, about his vision for our US office and what 20 years of agency experience has taught him about the exciting challenges that lie ahead.
Tell us about your career before you joined Fox Agency
As an ‘agency-lifer,’ I’ve spent my entire 20-year career on the agency side, with more than 15 focused in the B2B space. Most recently I was VP, Client Partner at The Marketing Practice leading account oversight and growth for blue-chip clients in the High Tech and Consulting sectors.
What’s your vision for Fox Agency in the US?
Simply put, I hope to bring the creatively-led culture that Ben and team have established, to the states. In that spirit, the team has already done the heavy lifting as Fox Agency has focus, purpose, and a reputation for creative problem solving B2B’s toughest growth challenges. My goal is to continue the growth trajectory here by creating significant opportunities for our US based clients.
What excited you about the role with Fox Agency?
There’s a lot of excitement and momentum around Fox Agency’s expansion to the US backed by a very willing team to see that it’s done properly. Personally, the unique challenge of bringing an already established agency to a relatively new market was very enticing.
What does your new role as Client Services Director for North America involve?
Working alongside Ben, Paul and the Fox Agency team; I’ll lead Client Services in the US, helping advise our clients on strategies and creative solutions to their biggest growth problems.
What will this new role mean for clients?
It means the ‘open’ sign has officially been turned on in the US. I’m excited to tell future clients about why they should place their trust in Fox Agency. With our expansion we maintain our global presence, now with the addition of local knowledge of the unique market dynamics presented in the US.
What has been your biggest professional achievement to date?
Too many to count, but it’s honestly the relationships I’ve made along the way. Not only have I made lifelong friends from past teammates, clients, and others I’ve come across in the industry – but I’ve gained so much knowledge from them. I feel very fortunate to have worked alongside some very amazing, talented people.
What do you love about working with clients?
To me, being on the front lines working with clients is where the magic happens. I love working with clients directly, diving into the problems and opportunities they are tasked with, and translating those to impactful strategies and in-market programs. Being the advocate for our clients and internal teams can at times be a tough job, but it’s the most rewarding feeling when it all comes together.
Finally, tell us something exciting or interesting about yourself
I recently took a 5-month sabbatical from the professional side of life to spend time with family, travel and do as many hikes as possible in my home state of Colorado.
